The people in my family (all the men and a few of the women) who served in the military have a VERY dim view of it. It is, after all, an anti-democratic institution. Free thinkers don't tend to like it very much. My father loathed the military- though he certainly performed bravely in the jungles of the pacific as a marine. You are too prone to generalization if you think everyone who was in the military came out with one perspective on it. I don't want to clutter this thread any further. I am where I said I was before. I can certainly understand your need to vent.
