It is the old "sell on the news" , the money to be made was from yesterday's close to today's open. The shorts have entered the market again and the question is when they will cover before the FOMC policy announcement on the 19th , traders will never hold shorts through that announcement. The shorts are definitely back in the market now but they won't hold the shorts as long as they did last month. HJ
