I always find this hard to believe in this computer age, but I have heard from several people that CPQ has no idea how sales are doing in their indirect channel. It takes weeks before they know what is happening. This is where Dell has a huge advantage. They know by the minute how things are going. CPQ also sells a huge amount of machines the last two weeks of every quarter. Almost every quarter I hear of stories about record amounts of machines shipped during the last week. I'll bet Rudedog has heard the same thing. Therefore, MC had no idea how sales were going plus the hope for record breaking sales during the next two weeks. I can only imagine that he feels the next two weeks are not going to be as big as usual.
