Once the old vanguard fades away in the mist of time, the new blood will be more tolerant to diversity in China. The old guard knows only one way and that is "my Way". I think that it is impossible to keep the one billion plus people in line with state policy for too long. The mechanized preprogrammed robots in the officialdom in china will get their clocks cleaned one day with the onslaught of internet, modern communications and new ideas. It may take longer than we like it to be.
In India, there is a debate going on the desirability of building a temple in the site of demolished Babri musjid.
on the other hand, I might want to point out that even in Pakistan, the old decrepit mosques of no historical significance are razed down.
