"they brought in ex-Reagan admin relic James Baker" Can you or someone reading this help me find a link to info about the role of James Baker when he was Sec. of the Treas. during Reagan's administration, specifically during the period of the 1987 market crash? My recollection is that the crash partly was precipitated by some structural problems with exchange rates with currencies, and that Baker was seen as an amateur in a high place. The info I read once laid much of the blame for the crash on Baker. Any help appreciated, to flesh out, confirm or repudiate my recollections. After all, maybe better understanding the past can better help bring the country back together.
