I agree 100 percent. The GOP is in a very awkward position. If they go after unions, seek to overturn Roe v. Wade, strike out at affirmative action ... they will mobilize millions of people across the country. However, if they do nothing, then they will drive a wedge between the GOP centrists and the right wing of the Republican Party.

D-Dubya-I has a very shaky coalition to hold together. It's going to be fun watching it disintegrate beginning in January when McCain ties up the Senate until something significant is done regarding campaign finance reform.
