I cannot think of one important thing that he has done as governor.
Well, I would consider being the first Republican Governor to be re-elected in a dominantly democratic state is one major achievement that comes to mind.
But better yet, why not ask what Al Gore, during his 24 years of public "service", has accomplished other than bringing the term "no controlling authority" to the political lexicon?
And if you hadn't forgotten, Al rode HIS daddie's name into Tennessee politics. And Al Gore is also the first presidential candidate since George McGovern, NOT TO CARRY HIS OWN STATE.
I CAN, however, name any number of things that WERE NOT accomplished by this administration. And you can think about it the next time you pay your gas bill. Natural Gas prices have increased by some 400% this year alone because this administration prevented any new efforts to lessen energy dependence.
But then again, if we look at the Republican "contract with America" we can see 7 of 10 goals that they were able to achieve, most notably Welfare Reform (after Clinton vetoed it twice).
This economy would have grown under Bush Sr., or Perot.... but the lack of vision on what is required to sustain the infrastructure to maintain such growth is where this administration has utterly failed the American people.
