I didn't deliberately exclude East Indians or Caribbean blacks, I've been looking for a breakdown on voter demographics and not finding it. I also think Africans from Africa don't vote Democrat as much as black Americans descended from slaves, but am not certain. So I continue to dig.

On the thread I started today, I posted several op-ed pieces by black writers who don't think there is much difference between Gore and Bush, and are tired of the Democrats expecting them to vote Democrat. I expect Powell and Rice will change some minds about the place of blacks in the Republican party.
