Yes -- a lot of those were computer programs that were never designed to deal with prices moving that fast. They kept churning out sell order after sell order for huge blocks, and the massive amount of selling scared off buyers who had no clue what was happening.

It was a good thing for some people -- I moved in about three days after the crash and picked up some stocks that did quite nicely for me, thank you very much.

If Baker had anything to do with it, I hope he does it again! <g>
