I am glad you are okay. I hate stuff like that. I have been on the highway between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, looked out the window, and seen that a woman's tire was about to blow. At 65 miles an hour, nothing to do but get out of the way and hope she doesn't lose control of the car or stop in front of traffic. She made it to the shoulder. Another time, I was behind a car during a heavy rain, and watched as it lost traction and spun out in front of me. Thank God, I noticed just as it started, and slowed down to give it a wide berth. Again, the driver made it off the road safely, but it was close.
Great day indeed! Even Gore acted like a man, and gave a great concession speech. I am so relieved.
See, my wife belongs to two professional associations, and has been active in both. On this occasion, she taught a class on some of the arcana of fundraising during one association's winter conference, and it went so well they want to publish a booklet based on the presentation. I am very proud of her. So the dinner was mainly a treat for her, but I also had in mind the likely end to the election. |
