Heinz, add to that the robust Fed activity on Monday: $771M coupon pass; $2.99B 28/repo; and $3.5B overnight. Grand total: $7.26B

And then net out the $3.6B overnight drain on Tuesday. It all seems a bit schizophrenic.

And here's proof positive that the price of printing presses (and salaries) has gone up along with the prices of other real-world items <g>:

<<WASHINGTON, Dec 13 (Reuters) - The U.S. Federal Reserve on Wednesday approved a $2.44 billion budget for the Fed's 12 regional banks in 2001, a 6.3 percent increase from this year's estimated expenses.

Nearly two-thirds of the banks' budgets will be devoted to salaries and benefits, the Fed said.>>

Hope all is well, Ken.
