That's the crux of the problem.....you, Jozef and a host of others who voted for Bush do not see not see the implied ideology nor the duplicity of Jozef's statement.

Ted, now its not just ideology but duplicity?? Ralph Nader or Gore might think the reason that Bush didn't go for a recount was the same thing that Joe said. (Why take the risk when you are going to win). You can argue that someone should not act based on that type of reason in this situation, but that does not say anything about the ideology or the honesty of some one saying that another person is acting based on ideas like that.
If Joe thought I was acting a certain way because it was in my self interest and he stated this, and you thought I should not act based on selfish reasons in the current situation, you could argue that I was selfish but that wouldn't mean Joe was selfish or dishonest or had any particular ideological beliefs.

That's why Bush will be president but he did not win.

To the extent that anyone won (beyonf winning defined as becomeing the next president) it was in my opinion Bush, but arguably the election was too close to call. So close that a recount would not conclusivly settle it either because it could be within the margin of error of a recount, esp. if you consider the subjectiveness of trying to determine if a certain dimpled chad counts or not.

One thing I think we have all learned from this is that punch cards are not the way to go for elections.
