Ted, now its not just ideology but duplicity??

Its always been that.

Ralph Nader or Gore might think the reason that Bush didn't go for a recount was the same thing that Joe said. (Why take the risk when you are going to win). You can argue that someone should not act based on that type of reason in this situation, but that does not say anything about the ideology or the honesty of some one saying that another person is acting based on ideas like that.

There are many who thought that the vote was manipulated in FL to favor Bush. You don't think that thought crossed Bush's mind? I'll guaranteed you it did....its the reason he did not want any recounting if he could help it. And therein lies the duplicity. He and his comrades screamed foul when it came to Gore but were unwilling to risk a recount to see if he really won in FL.

That's why Bush will be president but he did not win.

To the extent that anyone won (beyonf winning defined as becomeing the next president) it was in my opinion Bush, but arguably the election was too close to call. So close that a recount would not conclusivly settle it either because it could be within the margin of error of a recount, esp. if you consider the subjectiveness of trying to determine if a certain dimpled chad counts or not.

You don't know for sure and now we will never know....and that was the intent of the Bush campaign through this process.
