One right-wing priest got on EWTN a few weeks ago and complained that not all parish priests are telling their congregations how and for whom to vote. Then he starts complaining that some parishioners who are given a "recommended candidate list" don't vote the way their priest tells them to vote. Hell, all I get from my union is a sheet of paper in the mail of recommended candidates. I didn't even get a phone call from the Labor Council this fall. Trouble with the Catholic Church is that it's become so focused on one-issue ... abortion ... that other, just-as-important issues, such as child abuse, get lost in the shuffle.

If the Catholic Church is going to tell people on TV how to vote instead of saving souls, then start taxing 'em.
