PurOptix Announces It Will Resell Marconi Network Switches
CARLSBAD, Calif., Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- PurOptix has announced that it will resell Marconi's (Nasdaq: MONI; London) ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) switches as part of its PurOptix AON System solution, a state-of-the-art and turnkey multi-service network platform.
The Marconi equipment is currently the only PurOptix "qualified" platform for use in the core switching process as part of the PurOptix AON System.
PurOptix has developed the first truly pervasive metropolitan networking platform for network operators to serve both business and consumer markets with a rich product and service offering. The AON System provides a platform for network operators to deliver a variety of voice, video, data, and Internet applications and services on an all fiber optic infrastructure. The platform is unique in that it supports a "carrier's carrier" business model delivering choice to the consumer and business customer and an attractive return on investment to the owner/operator of the network.
