As an Independent person of color, I take great offense at your statement that Justice Thomas and General Powell are what you term "Uncle Toms". Please stop using that phrase to describe African Americans and other people of color who happen to be making it within the Capitalist system without Government handouts. These are individuals who have done the hard work to earn College Degrees and be promoted through the Officer ranks of the military and serve honorably in defense of this great country. Just because they have a political view different then your own is no reason to stoop to "Liberal Racism" by insulting them in this manner. I and many others are quite aware of how "helpful" your political persuasion is to the less fortunate members of society, but only to a certain extent that perpetuates their condition and never threatens to actually solve anything. After all, that would put all those government workers out on the street to find real jobs and we couldn't have that now could we! After all is said and done Democrat as well as Republican voted to appoint Justice Thomas to the high court when they could have just as well have "Borked" him too, and no one who has ever served in the capacity of Joint Chief of Staff could ever be termed anything other than an American worthy of respect and admiration. General Powell has done and is doing more to help minority kids through his nonprofit corporations then Jesse Jackson has ever done through lining it up to see that his brother received a Coke-a-Cola Distributorship.
