"Ted, now its not just ideology but duplicity??"

Its always been that.

I was commenting on a response to a statement by Joe. How was he duplicitous?

There are many who thought that the vote was manipulated in FL to favor Bush. You don't think that thought crossed Bush's mind? I'll guaranteed you it did....

What probably also crossed his mind is how the recount could be manipulated by the democrats in the counties that Gore wanted a recount in. I think manipulation was more likely there then for the Republicans. This doesn't require a belief that Democrats are more corrupt or likely to commit vote fraud. Manual recount of punch cards allows more subjectivity and also more outright manipulation and fraud.

Do you think Gore in the same position would have acted differently?

If you where the coach of a superbowl team and your team won with a touchdown as time ran out, but you expect that your running back may have put a toe out of bounds at the one but no one calls for a reply would you try to insist on one? (And this even assumes that you think you might have deserved to lose. I think both Gore and Bush thought they won).
