>all i can say is i WISH my companies could report their results BEFORE year end, it'd be nice to have the sigh of relief before January.< i've been mulling over the possibility of positive pre-announcements myself. as i recall from early this year, (upon returning from overseas and slogging through a backlog of press releases), AMCC did pre-release 3Q results on jan 3 (first day of trading in '00). not soon enough for you, eh? during my time as a shareholder, i don't recall PMC "officially" releasing preliminary numbers, although i certainly wouldn't object in this market clime. fwiw, i attended the ALTS conference in hilton head last week. confirmed that AMCC has DWs in Astral Point's metro gear. AP's revenue stream likely has too may CLECs for my taste, but i most certainly got a warm & fuzzy for a robust optical MAN/edge market (cf. Geyser and Riverstone Networks).
