Nickel - Palladium dust substitute "Japan's Kawatetsu to hike nickel powder output on strong demand Tokyo--Dec. 12--Japan's Kawatetsu Mining Co. Ltd. plans to expand its nickel powder production capacity by 47% to 564 tonnes per annum in July 2001 to meet strong demand from information technology-related industries, a company official said Tuesday. High palladium prices have supported the rise in demand for nickel powder, which is used as a substitute material for palladium powder."
