Is there a band-width glut? Short term it seems like yes, but not if one looks at longer term and operating efficiencies of new networks.

ILECs tend to be on current network curve
CLECs tend to be on future network curve (40-45% operating cost savings)

Expect ILECs to invest in new technology even if they have unlit fiber because of lower operating costs of new technology.

Does more efficient fiber (e.g. MetroCor) adversely affect GLW components business? No, because efficient fiber eliminates need for signal regeneration equipment which is not something GLW makes.
