Of course, I just thought it amusing that they should emphasize this point, given their history of "unexplained" crashes. At least they are finally getting around to ECC to address the problem.

Of course, as long as they can't ship USIII, they can't ship ECC. They decided to not go back and put cache ECC on the USII products. What to call that, somewhere between a "nice to have" and a show stopper? Talk about taking advantage of a competitor's weakness by advertising, like Gary and Mary (?) have been kicking around. The only company I've seen allude to Sun's no ECC problem is Fujitsu, with their 64 bit Unix alternative they got from buying Hal Computer. McNeally or Ellison would be all over the competition like a cheap suit if they had an opportunity like this.
