Both speeches were great. Most Americans really do reside in the political center. I believe USSC deliberately took the heat in order to stop what could have become a runaway train if they remanded and required FSC to set standards with a new deadline of 12/12. 1. What if FSC required dimples to be counted and Gore won by 57 votes 2. Then Bush sues that standard were not fair OR 3. FSC says no dimples and Bush wins 4. Gore sues for dimples to count 5. In any case 2 sets of electors exist 6. HOuse accepts bush and senate accepts gore with VP gore casting deciding vote 7. Then it is legally returned to Jeb for final decision 8. FSC orders him to accept gore in the first scenario 9. Jeb defies fsc and cerities bush 10 Jeb goes to jail 11. Bush inaugurated on 1/20 simultaneous with million person march called by jesse jackson 12. violence breaks out;police overrun, troops called out Thank You SC for taking the heat and derailing this train
