One of the few encouraging events in the gold world recently (aside from the Howe suit) is Barrick's decision not to bring a new mine on stream as scheduled. With the chief hedger finally beginning to see that maybe it is time to start cutting the supply of newly mined gold, perhaps all is not lost.
