Hope Don's mom is doing better. We all miss his Updates. His last signals re Class 2 sell on the Nasdaq were dead on.

The good news on the PPI didn't help much today. I doubt that good news on the CPI will help much either. People seem to be focused on earnings and that news won't get better very rapidly.

As for the anticipated interest rate cuts, they may not be as soon or as big as people expect. If the President and Congress decide to push through plans for tax cuts--to fulfill campaign promises, head off a recession, or both--without getting Greenspan on board, I believe the Fed may not back down and, depending on what gets enacted, may have to tighten interest rates later next year. In a battle between the Fed and everyone else, I'll bet on the Fed.
