Singingfish Announces Consummation of Co-Branding Relationship with
InfoSpaceBusiness Relationship Brings Streaming Media Search Capabilities To
InfoSpace's Broadband Service Offerings

SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec 14, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Singingfish.com, a
leading developer of multimedia search services allowing internet users to
quickly find streaming media content such as Real, Windows Media and mp3 files,
today announced the company has entered into its first co-branding relationship
with InfoSpace, a leading global provider of cross-platform merchant and
consumer infrastructure services on wireless, broadband, and narrowband
platforms.

Beginning in 2001, Singingfish will add its streaming search capabilities to
InfoSpace's broadband platform, which will be marketed to high-speed Internet
access providers worldwide. In addition, the streaming search technology will
also be deployed through InfoSpace's Web-based metasearch services, including
Go2Net.com ( www.go2net.com ), Dogpile ( www.dogpile.com ) and MetaCrawler (
www.metacrawler.com ). '

This announcement comes as Singingfish formally launches its multimedia search
service this week at the Streaming Media West conference in San Jose, Calif. The
service is one of the world's most current comprehensive, up-to- date and
accurate streaming media search service available, delivering access to more
than six million indexed streams. The new technology provides Web portals,
search engines, broadband and destination sites with private-label search
capabilities that can be customized to fit a site's unique search requirements,
giving users greater access to movie clips, music, interviews, and other online
entertainment. Singingfish is a subsidiary of global electronics leader Thomson
Multimedia (NYSE: TMS).

"The InfoSpace co-branding relationship will allow Singingfish to introduce our
services to a wide audience," said Singingfish President Mike Behlke. "The
InfoSpace technology platforms bring a lot of credibility and users. We are
extremely proud to provide streaming search capabilities to InfoSpace's broad
customer base."

"As broadband continues to mature as a medium, streaming content in the form of
news, entertainment and other offerings will only grow in popularity," said
Thomas M. Camp, senior vice president of business development for InfoSpace's
broadband services. "Streaming content's future growth will spur demand to
search this content. The deployment of Singingfish's streaming search
capabilities through our industry-leading metasearch technologies will be
extremely valuable to our users and partner organizations."

Singingfish uses a combination of a sophisticated, second-generation search
architecture and an automated, rule-based classification system to retrieve and
index the entire streaming media universe. In addition, the company has formed a
collaborative network of content producers that helps ensure its information is
comprehensive and up-to-date.

On Dec. 1, Thomson Multimedia announced the completion of its acquisition of
Singingfish as part of the company's new business-to-business segment, called
Digital Media Solutions (DMS). DMS will provide infrastructure products for
entertainment and media companies to enable them to take advantage of the
opportunities of digital technology. In addition to its business-to-business
activities, Thomson is the world's fourth-largest producer of consumer
electronics under the RCA and THOMSON brands.

Singingfish is demonstrating its multimedia search service at Streaming Media
West, where it's showing how its service can help portals, broadband, and other
internet sites generate more revenue and give their users the ability to
navigate the huge volume of streaming content available on the Internet and to
find the content they seek.

About Streaming Media

"Streaming media" refers to audio, video and interactive files delivered to a
user's computer via the Internet or other network environment. The advantage
over traditional formats is that streaming files begin to play before the entire
file is downloaded, saving end-users the long wait. Digitally recorded music,
movies, trailers, news reports, radio broadcasts and live events have all
contributed to an increase in streaming content on the Web. In addition, less
expensive high-bandwidth connections such as cable, DSL and T1 are providing
Internet users with speedier, more reliable access to new multimedia formats.

About Singingfish.com

Singingfish.com, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Thomson Multimedia (NYSE: TMS),
was founded in 1999 to develop the largest and most comprehensive multimedia
search engine. The company licenses private-label search services to a
cross-section of business clients including search engines, portals, broadband,
destination sites and others. More information about Singingfish is available
