In my pursuit of a rum ball recipe I stumbled across this cookie. It is very good, I am baking them right now, wish you could smell them.

Egg Nog Tea Cakes

1 cup of butter
1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1/4 teaspoon of rum extract
2 1/3 cups of flour
3/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/3 cup of chopped pecans

Heat oven to 350
combine butter and 1 cup of powdered sugar, mix until smooth and creamy. Add vanilla and rum, beat until well mixed. Reduce speed on mixer and add the flour, nutmeg and salt. Mix until just combined. Stir in pecans by hand. Mix will be dry and crumbly.
Shape into 1 inch sized balls. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 -13 min. just until cookie sets. Do not brown. Cool on dish or rack. While still warm roll cookies in remaining powdered sugar.
