thanks for finding that. since we are on the subject of lasers: take a look at Emcore's transceiver: profiles.yahoo.com (click on the picture frame to enlarge) The picture compares the form factor between current OC-192 (10 Gb/s) optical transceiver on the left (Lucent's state-of-the-art) with Emcore's product on the right, now shipping. Emcore's transceiver is about 1/10 the cost and less than 1/100 the size of Lucent's. I think this Lucent product line is in serious trouble.
