Thucydidies,

Re: (Nokia) NOK - "Project Hunt Report"

I am in the process of preparing one.

More detail and a preannouncement here:

127.0.0.1:3456/SI/stocktalk/readmsg.aspx?msgid=15024370

I will complete and submit the presentation as quickly as possible, but in any case, no later than 12/31/2000.

I feel that there is some urgency to prepare this report. I refer you to this comment in the thread FAQ maintained by Fred Manzo:

"We are purposely devoting our energy only to the aspect of Gorilla Gaming that involves a pure royalty or gorilla play in which a mass market and a tornado already exists or will soon appear."

Nokia is the market leader in an industry that discourages gorilla plays ("Shoot the Gorilla") more than most others.

They appear to be the best royalty play in the broad sector of wireless.

They are not, and never will be, a primate

A mass market already exists in this age of the "Telecosm".

The initial wireless voice tornado has subsided.

The new wireless voice and data tornado is about to begin, and initially will be driven by an air interface known as GPRS. This interim step to 3G wireless paves the way for wideband CDMA implementation.

The growth of CDMA has temporarily abated (but it will be back big time in a few more years).

I realize that there are numerous QUALCOMM Perma-Bulls on this thread. I happen to be one of them.

For the most part, QUALCOMM & Nokia do not compete in the same space.

The appeal of the "Telecosm", has encouraged me to investigate and invest in, other avenues to play wireless, before the broad wireless sector comes back in favor.
