The ANC has botched things terribly. >> Absolutely. The last time I was in Johannesburg was about eight years ago, and it was already really scary. The ANC is truly botching things up. The ability of anybody to make up in a short period of time for the effects of long years of apartheid is pretty constrained, of course. But what's happening is a tragedy, and in many ways, lately, a sordid one.
