Some info from one of ADICs equities...

As year 2000 comes to an end, I'm pleased to share with you some additional LiveVault success stories!

The University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Corporate Financial Services department, with an annual budget of over $2 billion, now relies on LiveVault to provide the highest level of data protection available for Windows NT/2000. The departments' SQL and Exchange servers are in use around the clock, and cannot be shut down for a nightly backup. The only solution Marc Pebley, LAN Manager, found that could provide true 24-hour protection of open files and database applications, was LiveVault.

"This is unlike every other backup system I've ever used," he says. "We're now covered 24x7, which we never were before. What's more, it actually works, where nothing else really has in our environment."

In addition to allowing systems to run continually, LiveVault has also eased the restore process. "Using LiveVault, restores have gone from an hour to 30 seconds," he states. "A recovery that would take us a business day now takes about half an hour. There's no tape handling or other physical intervention." Just as important, the data restored is current; it appears as of the moment it was lost, rather than from the night before.

Scitor Corporation in Sunnyvale, California uses LiveVault to provide 24x7 data protection of more than 100 Windows NT servers at the corporate headquarters and branch offices. LiveVault was the only solution that could meet the data protection needs of the company's approximately 800 engineers. "Once we did the initial sync, LiveVault went into maintenance mode and it's been working perfectly ever since," says Jim Treme, Network Engineer.

Jim adds, "We like the product so much that we've decided to sell it ourselves." As a provider of various engineering service systems, including information technology services, Scitor is also a reseller of LiveVault. "The reason we're having such success selling it is because of our success in using it."
