carepedeum2000: The Fed return to a "neutral" bias on 12/19 is a given -- Greenspan has already told us that. The more intriguing question is: with the continued weakness in the markets, the poor earnings reports from a large number of high-profile stocks in a number of different sectors, and the benign inflation data, will the Fed actually begin easing interest rates next Tuesday?

If so, this may well be the catalyst to rally the NASDAQ toward the 3500 range by the end of February 2001. Question is, is it worth loading up on tech stocks Friday and Monday 12/18 in anticipation of this?
