Cheering for MSFT to have lower sales only makes sense if those lower sales were going to ORCL. However, if they were reflective of a general slowdown in IT spending(which they probably were) then you're cheering your own funeral.

While personally I don't cheer for lower sales for MSFT, it is not ergo for you to assume that ORCL's business will similarly suffer. You come here espousing your prowess about your knowledge of the IT business but have yet to present any credible evidence that you know anything that would lend anyone here to think that your opinion is so far superior than others here who don't necessarily share your experience.

I speculate that you THINK you know much more than you ACTUALLY DO; that you used to work in the field but no longer do and therefore you THINK you understand how it works TODAY and GOING FORWARD but really don't. The FACT that ORCL did well this Q supports my contention with you on this note last month in which you thought you were all-knowing how IT managers purchase application software vis-a-vis database software.

See Message 14871466.

More generally, if in-fact you seem so confident that ORCL's share price will demise as the result of the overall economy and in sympathy with some of the more battered sectors, then I ask why are you here? Why do you seem to focus on ORCL and look for a lower entry? If you're looking for a low entry stock, this is not one of them. If you're simply looking for an entry, this is it.

I did notice last month you were looking to enter at $15; now you're looking to re-enter at $20; next month you'll be looking to re-enter at $30. When the market recovers this stock is going to the moon. May I suggest you start taking nibbles at these levels. If the stock dips a bit, pick up some more, but don't wait 'til the stock hits $20; it may never hit $20. Hey, do whatever. I just fail to see the logic of why you're here unless you think this is the stock you wanna ride up when the market recovers and are just trying to pick a bottom. No one can pick a bottom. The fact that your entry point just rose 33% in one month is testimony to you're own skills fall within those of many, if not all investors. Again, you appear to THINK you know much more than you can ACTUALLY DO.
