Excellent points.

One thing I realized last night. Over the past few weeks, I've asked, repeatedly, for Democrats to walk with me through the endgame to see how things would play out, and tell me what would happen if the recount and the appeals were NOT finished in time for the Electoral College to vote. I've had no response, ever, except "Count Every Vote."

Now, they've voiced opinions about everything else under the sun, but the safety of Florida's electoral college votes? Well, they decline to comment.

And using the method of analysis that Sherlock Holmes entertainingly called "the dog that didn't bark" - there is a reason they don't comment, and the reason is that they WANTED Florida to lose its electoral college votes. Because they KNEW Florida's votes would go to Bush, no matter how the endgame played, but if Florida didn't vote, Gore won by default.

So the scheme was disengenuous from the beginning. It wasn't "Count Every Vote," it was "Disenfranchise Florida."

I'm done arguing with them. Life moves on.
