Was it "for the good of the country" that we had to hear the details of his sex life?

Now we are supposed to think all this happened in a vacuum and Conservatives brought all this up. Remember Clarence Thomas? He supposedly talked about some stuff. Do you remember court-room scenes where pubic hair is talked about and movie titles? Where did that come from? And all because he was not a liberal Black. How about Bob Packwood, whose personal diary was subpeoned to illustrate possible harrassment. Was he defended by NOW like Clinton? At least he resigned to avoid disgracing himself and the country more. Now the hue and cry is to forget any possible past wrong-doing of the left and heal the country. It's cynical and insincere, purely political on the face of it. The politics of division and flaming the opponent were brought to play by Clinton. It is his legacy. He sells the idea that "it's the haters, I'm a lover" but he has been a brutal political player, and generous in blaming everything on opponents. It will take a long time to heal, and many current democrats have learned too well from him to allow any healing. It's not like any is wanted, anyway. That is pure politics to try to gain split committees and cabinet posts after having squandered control of both houses, most governorships, and now the presidency.
