The right wing just spent 8 full years persecuting a democratic president. To now expect the left wing to embrace a republican president is lunacy. For all I care, the left and right "wings" can go to hell. The future of this republic is in the hands of the center. When Clinton was willing to work with the center, he had success and together they passed some good legislation that put this country on a real nice economic growth track. When Clinton tried to get kooky stuff like Hillary-care passed he was shot down. The same will be true for Bush. He needs to scrap the ideas like broad Social Security reform and estate-tax elimination. Instead, he should make modest changes here and work incrementally. I hope that in 4 years he has made the far right and far left very angry. Maybe Nader will run again - I'm sending him some money <g> - and Palm Beach Pat too. That will show he has done a good job, IMO.
