After each of Bill Clinton's elections, radical right fanatics like Delay and Lott picked at everything -- mostly inventing 'Whitewater' lies --at our President, even bringing the nation twice to the brink of a government shut-down. Clinton is not only a legitimate president, he is smart and capable.
Bush, by contrast, is stupid and incompetent. Since he enters the White House without a shred of legitimacy, you'll just have to get accustomed to determined criticisms, lengthy investigations, howls of outrage, obduracy, criminal indictments, and eventually jail when the Republicans get caught, as they always do, with their hand in the till.
As for what critics "are ... trying to accomplish" - take a guess. You have until 2004 to figure it out. |
