if the party faithful can continue fueling nationalism they will
be able to avoid the internal treats that the market reforms have brought.
you missed 2 other points that can not be ignored. the proliferation
of missile technologies to the n.koreans, iraq, iran and pakistan. and the nuclear
technology much of which were stolen from our weapons labs to these same states.
the limitations will be erased in this decade.

you also must consider that china knows that conventionally they can not engage the US
by themselves. this is why they have interred into military cooperation packs with russia,
n. korea and iran. they are aliened with pakistan and with the right sales pitch could open multi front
operation if military force is chosen to resolve the question of taiwan. the mere threat of disruption of oil
exports out of the gulf and a threat to use theater weapons on japan could create more hell
than actually committing to their executions..
