My girlfriend's father is very big on HWP, Dee Jay.
I was too hard on HWP. I overlooked its culture. When the one founder died there were some inspiring articles about HWP. It was sucessful for a long time before it was even listed on the NYSE, and it has built on this for years and years. Still, this morning, in the WSJ market column, it listed IBM, DEC, and HWP together just like I did.
Also, I suppose the other gentlemen indicated I was crazy, or inspired, but I'm not sure. You have to be careful what you say about Iomega. Actually, I have learned to love the Io phenomenon, and as today illustrates, it has become the barometer of the whole tech market, which is so dependent on the level of biz and consumer PC growth. Today was a great day for us, and bonds. This will bring tens of billions of "asset allocator" money into the SP 500. Remember when I said the Fed would not tighten? We'll I am not as influential as the "influential Wash think tank" that said the same today.
I may have had a hand in the news today. Yesterday I voice mailed Paula (not Paul) Cook. She has been quite forthcoming to me before, giving me excellent information. I havent been back home yet, but she left a long message for me. I had a basic question, but I added my concern about the "very comfortable" quote. This has caused confusion and fear earnings will only be lukewarm. I requested a clarification, and a more foward looking statement for investors. I believe this is what we got today. This, and the Lucent news shows how hard management tries to make the stock go, and is a major factor in our support.
I think the maturing Multiband videoconferencing line is being positioned for multimedia. This may be TNT.
