I think you read my post too quickly. My point regarding Gen. Henry H. Shelton, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was that he was acting as a super-patriot. I was impugning the patriotism of no one. Warriors need wars to fight; they decry "nation-building" because they are warriors, not conciliators. Now that we have a Republican president, we will see more "warning" speeches from generals. Why is it not logical to assume such?
