Creative Labs 3D Blaster:

The Vesa-bus version of the 3D Blaster is obsolete, and I believe that was based on the Nvidia chipset. However, CL is working on and almost has ready a new version of the 3D Blaster which is PCI bus and is based on the Rendition Verite chip set. This is anything but obsolete. This is the hottest chip set that is anywhere near shipping at a reasonable price.

Unfortunately, CL is going to charge $349 for the board which is a lot. The only near term competitors are based on the S3 Virge chipset, which should be a lot cheaper (like ~$200) but the Virge is pretty much bottom of the barrel in terms of performance.
