*OT* Things must be getting tough out there. Can someone explain to me how one 'falls out' of an airplane at speed? Also, if this occurs, how does it happen without other passengers observing it??
Regards, John
Woman Disappears From H-P Plane During Flight in Northern California Associated Press
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- A woman fell or jumped from a company plane as it flew about 2,000 feet over the Sacramento, Calif., area.
The Hewlett-Packard Co. employee, who was taking the company's shuttle from Sacramento to San Jose, has not been found and is presumed dead.
Federal aviation safety officials were interviewing the plane's two pilots and five other passengers.
Reports conflicted on whether anyone saw the woman leave the plane on Thursday, or if they only noticed she was gone when the plane landed in San Jose, the San Jose Mercury News reported Friday.
The twin-engine plane departed from Lincoln Regional Airport and shortly afterward made an emergency landing at the Sacramento Executive Airport because a cockpit light indicated that a door was unlocked.
After the door was checked, the plane took off again. Minutes later, the woman fell or jumped from the emergency exit door.
A passenger called 911 to report the woman missing about 45 minutes after the landing, according to a report filed with the San Jose Airport.
