I don't suppose you'll ever get an apology from the people in charge of the impeachment, but I am truly sorry. I didn't support it, and I think it was wrong. I think Clinton was set up. Married men always lie about extramarital sex. Nobody cared. It was a consensual relationship. Men having sex with the office staff has been going on forever. Eventually it came out that Gingrich had a mistress, with whom he had a working relationship. Can't remember, was she a lobbyist? His new wife. The rankest hypocrisy. But in Washington, if you get caught with your pants down, usually it's a good excuse to get rid of you. Oh, jeez, I am having a senior moment here, who was the guy running for President who got caught with whats-her-name Rice? And Orville Faubus? And who was it with Elizabeth Ray? It's kind of traditional to use sex scandals to get rid of someone you don't like. I vaguely remember the Profumo affair. Nothing new about making political capital of scandal, either.
