Off Topic, Hindsight being 20/20, Gore made a legal mistake when he decided to extend the certification period by two weeks. Had he accepted the original certification on November 14th, he still would have had roughly 9 days to hand recount Florida after the final Supreme Court Ruling. 7 of the 9 justices agreed that there were Constitutional problems with the current recount. The reason the recount ended is because 5 of the justices thought there was no time for remedy. In the final analysis, Gore and the Florida Supreme court did themselves in by extending the protest period at the expense of the contest period. Maybe the legislature wasn't so stupid with that original certification date.

This whole problem boils down to VOTER ERROR. Nothing else.

As to the hand recount, I propose that Rush Limbaugh count all the votes. After all, we all want a recount right? He would be the ultimate judge of what counted as a vote. This is essentially what happened in Dade, Palm Beach and Broward counties except the counters were Democrats.
