mike, reasonable people disagree with this assessment. some argue that al gore's attempt to count only those votes that increased al's probability of winning and the fsc's inability to force al gore to play fair installed bush into the presidency. if gore had gotten everything he legally fought for and won, 100s of thousands of votes would still not have been counted. following al's argument that not counting votes is disenfranchisement... someone ought to ask gore why he went to court to set up a system that disenfranchised tens of thousands of voters. hypocricy, maybe? whatever, it was anything but fair.

7-2 that the fsc's remedy had "constitutional issues." that decision crossed party lines and speaks volumes, imho.

i'm on their side.

i also think bush is a guber and rather irritating to listen to, but that is another issue. i especially liked his acceptance speech where he said something to the effect of... "we need to provide an education to children. cheldren of all backgrounds and accents."

uh, bush, try "descent." ;-)
