Jerome, OT *** TA
I'm only a beginner, even though I have read many TA books partly. After FA failed so miserably in spring, I started getting more serious about actually USING TA. The simple moving average method I like would have told me to sell AMAT around 80 on the way down.[Stan Weinstein "Secrets for profiting in bull and bear markets", an old book but good because of its simplicity]. No buy signal yet, but when it comes the stock will be well off its bottom and therefore safer, i.e. the uptrend will be more likely not a fake. Of course you won't get the maximum bottom to peak gain, but who got that anyway?

Of course I still want to know about fundamentals. The problem with using FA alone is that one expects the big money to share one's interpretation of the fundamentals.
When they don't, it leads to losses.
