Tom,
Fortunately for the fans, he is so overleveraged, he is going to lose the club soon.

What makes you think that? The Redskins are raking it in. It's a profitable organization. They have the largest seating capacity (80K+) and the highest avg. ticket price. Every seat of every game is sold out before the season begins including preseason games. They also have the highest parking price in the NFL not to mention that they charge to watch training camp practices (10 bucks admission + 10 bucks parking). The stadium has a huge amount of private. boxes that go for hundreds of thousand dollar per year (non-shared revenue). He sold the stadium name for a fortune.

It's really funny that the perception of the Dan'ster is so different in the national media then the local media.

He sold his company (Snyder Communications) at what appears to be the top in this market. He bought out one of the two minority owners this year. He wants to defer payment to the nfl because of the TAX consequences. Unlike other owner's who live off the taxpayer's of the region, he owns the stadium outright. If I remember correctly, he has made large payments ahead of schedule to bring the stadium debt down. Remember the huge price he paid for the team included the stadium and parking lots. Compare this to Baltimore (go Ravens!) where I'm paying for the stadium as a taxpayer of MD whether I go to the games or not. It's my stadium and some Baltimorons insist I should not go to my stadium since I'm not a "pure" enough fan (ggg).

You brought up the issue of how much Danny gets from the private box gratuities. Are you sure that the state doesn't do the same in most of the state own stadiums. Maybe the owner of the team and the owner of the stadium (the taxpayers) do the same thing in other football cities or maybe not.

The Dan'sters problem is that he is a businessman and he is maximizing profits to the point of irritating fans. Six bucks for a lousy plastic bottle of Miller-lite beer. I want a microbrew beer or something imported. The other problem is that he is a fan like you and me, not a football person, at least Jerry Jones played football in college. Danny’s going to have to go through a maturing process before he understands the spotlight he has purchased. He definitely needs an image consultant. As big a debacle as this season has been, at least I know he wants to win. It could be worse, I could live in Cincinnati.
