No need to belittle people joe. And it is not stock split 101.

Stock split 101 teaches you about the real world. Stock split intensive training advanced for the gifted regarding OTCBB issues teaches you;

1. record date is meaningless for most traders
2. X-date means everything for most traders
3. OTCBB companies are generally run by stupid people that don't understand this
4. When the split company in question issues a PR clarifying the split, but they get it all wrong, it usually means they fugged up something and the R/M is now in question. (and possibly someone could go to jail for selling unregistered securities)

Sheesh, yesterday I was bored and went to some site I'd had a link to for months but never really checked it out. Don't have the link at home, but they had a list of splits and at teh bottom had an idiotic definition of x-date that went like this;

"X-date is the day the stock begins trading after the stock split. In order to get the stock split you must purchase the stock 3 days before the record date to allow the trade to settle, and then you can sell your split shares on the x-date"

What a bunch of morons, surprised no one has sued them yet for that bit of info.

Looking for a stock that really fugged it up in december and wrecked a R/M by not understanding this. Was S~~~ something. I'll look and post the saga
