Something the socialists, liberals, and anti-capitalists don't or won't understand: price controls ALWAYS lead to shortages and higher prices.

You've got that right, and now both California and New York must live with the monster they have created in the name of liberalism..Let's keep everybody happy, and not raise the price of anything.

The price controls Nixon put on. And on and on.

I remember when he did that, and I wondered why that was necessary. I'm no economics major, all you have to do is look at my portfolio to know that, but even I doubted the wisdom of his move at the time.

You can't go on for almost a decade with no oil drilling, exploration, or looking for an alternative source of energy, without paying the consequences.
