I2,
I also agree that the best way for most investors to use BB's timing model is through index funds. I believe BB emphasizes this type of vehicle in order to tailor his show to benefit the greatest number of listeners. If he were to recommend vehicles requiring more active management, such as individual stocks, his show would degenerate into a weekly "hand-holding session" for people who aren't ready for such an investment style, but had proceeded and bought stocks anyway.

A way I recently made use of Bob's timing model AND one of his individual stock recommendations (from Nightly Business Report appearence)was to purchase Uniphase last month when the stock was hit hard. Having taken the time to learn about the company after he mentioned it, and given the assumption that we were still in a bull market, I was able to take advantage of the opportunity at $34. In the past five weeks, it rose 70%, although it's back down now to only a 54% gain. Thanks, don,,I mean, Bob!

I wonder when is Bob going to be on NBR next. This seems to be the only place he will mention the names of individual stocks he likes.

Regards,
Gary D

(P.S. I wonder what proportion of BB's portfolio is in individual stocks)
