Nifty article about the mapping of networks of protein-protein interactions:

I would imagine that some of the proteomics players have something like this hooked up to higher quality databases. The difference is that the U. Of Washington people publicly talk about their effort in more detail. They also have a nice site of Mass Spectrometry info, and used to have a site that helped doctors diagnose shoulder injuries. Probably had a liability problem with that last one, but before they fractured it, I used it to diagnose a problem near my rotator cuff that had been slow to heal. Based on it, I gave it a couple more weeks instead of panicing and spending megabucks on doctors. Indeed, the offending joint soon felt better, and having been cautiously reintroduced to climbing, it is now quite strong.

Excuse me for waxing a little nostalgic about the online efforts of the U. of Washington Med. School. I almost feel like making a donation, and I'm not even an alum.

Cheers, Tuck
